Insulation can be applied to either the external or internal surface. External insulation has the advantage of retaining more floor space and, most notably, providing weather-proofing to the ceiling.
The average costs to insulate a garage for insulators will include significant installation costs. While a skilled DIYer could tackle the project, it is not simple and is probably best left to the specialists.
The technique and amount of insulation used will depend on the garage’s intended use.
