Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) is a non-destructive testing method widely used in welding inspection to detect surface and slightly subsurface defects in ferromagnetic materials. By applying a magnetic field to the weld area and sprinkling iron particles over it, inspectors can identify cracks, seams, and other imperfections as the particles gather at the defect sites, creating visible indications.
