This house in North Kensington is an example of the classic late-Victorian terrace. In this instance the brief demanded an update to the configuration of the ground floor to bring the house in line with the family’s style of living. The front reception rooms were opened out to a new full-width extension, with roof glazing to improve daylighting internally. The extension provides a new kitchen and dining space, WC and storage area. Views to the landscaped garden are framed by full height bespoke oak doors and a frameless glass window. The extension’s external walls are finished in a traditional hand-made brick with matching copings, chosen to complement the building’s original materials.
The house was updated at upper levels, with new finishes and bathrooms throughout.
