Tungsten carbide is one of the world’s hardest metals, comparable only to platinum and diamonds. It is four times stiffer than steel and is a much heavier and denser metal than steel or titanium. It is comparable with a sapphire in hardness and can only be polished and finished with diamond wheels and compounds.
