Accounts Assistant - Join a Leading Industry Team!

Our client a market leader in the timber industry, is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join the Finance Team. This role is based in Longford and is a office based position. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual who enjoys working with numbers, problem-solving, and collaborating with a dedicated team. We will consider candidates with 1 year experience.

Your Role:
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a keyrole in maintaining financial records, processing payments, and supporting various finance functions to ensure smooth operations. You will work closely with the Finance Manager and other stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely financial information.Key Responsibilities:
Invoicing & Credit Control:
* Ensure all dispatched goods are accurately invoiced
* Review and monitor customer credit terms
* Maintain aged debtor listings and follow up on payments
* Post cash receipts and resolvecustomer queries
Stock & Accounts Management:
* Support the stock-taking process and input data into systems
* Monitor stock pricing and prepare reports for management
* Assist in preparing monthly accounts and financial reports
* Conductmargin analysis on production vs. estimates
Revenue & Compliance:
* Assist with VAT preparation and returns
* Monitor and maintain RCT records
* Support financial audits and compliance reporting
What We're Looking For:
Education &Experience:
* Minimum Leaving Certificate with a relevant third-level qualification OR
* Part-qualified accountant or finance graduate with at least 1 year of experience in a finance role
* 3+ years of administrative experience in a manufacturing or similar environment
Skills & Competencies:
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to workindependently and as part of a team
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
About the role:
* Location: Longford (Office based)
* Reporting To: Finance Manager
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
* Holidays: 20 days per annum (pro-rata)
