Assistant Practice Manager
Swansea
£21645.83 for a 32 hour week
A New Role for the New Year
The Company
You will be working across two very busy GP Surgeries in the Swansea area. They have a well organised and friendly working environment to offer. The vacancy is due to a recent promotion and start date will only be in 2022.
The Role
You will work closely with the practice manager and cover in her absence. The hours are 32 hours per week and will be split over 4 days (Monday-Friday) Duties will include:
Accounting
* Process payroll
* Pay supplier invoices in a timely manner
* Pay any debtas it becomes due for payment
* Monitor debt levels
* Issue invoices to customers
* Ensure that receivables are collectedpromptly
* Record cash receipts and make bank deposits
* Maintain the petty cash fund
* Conduct a monthly bank reconciliation of every bank account
* Complete periodic reconciliations of all accounts
* Issue financial statements
* Provide information to the external accountant
* Assist the Practice Manager in producing annual accounts using SAGE accounting software upto balance sheet and profit and loss accounts
* Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
* Maintain the chart of accounts
* Comply with local government reporting requirements
* Tag and monitor fixed assets
Other Duties
* Assist the Practice Manager with Health & Safety, fire procedures, including training of staff and testing the alarm system
* Keeping the Health and Safety policy up to date
* Produce annual risk assessments reports of premises external and internal
* OverseeChildhood and pre-school vaccination targets
* Collate and submit item of service claims for Contraceptive Enhanced services* Ordering and monitoring vaccines and pharmaceutical items requires by the nurses
* Display health education material
* Monitor office supplies, ordering of stationery and house keeping items
* Oversee housekeeping and cleaning
* Provide clinicaland clerical reports where required
* Staff training, liaising with the head receptionist to cover training welfare and continued education and motivation of staff
* Implement employment legislation and disciplinary procedures as required during the absence of the practice manager
* Initiate new procedures where necessary and notify staff of policy changes
* Deal with complaints in the absence of the practice manager
* Attend PLTS, Practice Business, SEA and Complaints meetings as requiredRequirements
The ideal applicant will have the following experience, skills and attributes:
* Strong Finance or Bookkeeping Background
* Solid IT Skills including excellent knowledge of Sage 50 and MS Office, especially Excel
* Up to date knowledge of HMRC responsibilities
* Excellent organisational skills
* Ability to work accurately to strict deadlines
* Excellent communication skills
* Attention to detail
* Previous experience working in General Practice preferred but not essentialIn Return
This is an excellent opportunity to take out a 4 day week role (32 hours) offering an excellent salary of £21645.83 for these hours. Overtime would be payable for any additional hours worked.
