Description:
Our client a leader in their field with operations in Cork and Sigo are seeking to hire a skilled Cost Accountant with strong experience within procurement to join their team.
You will be a Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant with extensive experience in Financial Modelling and competitive bidding.
You will provide support to department budget owners to understand their cost base.
Support cost reduction projects across the company cost base.
With bases in Cork and Sligo - the company are open to hybrid or fully remote.
How you will spend your day:
Support the costing process for inputs into commercial tenders where systems or services are being procured from 3rd parties.
Provide costing supportfor Strategic Initiatives where there are capital and overhead elements.
Drive a cost-focused agenda and ensure value in procurements leveraging on our partners, scale and growth prospects.
Collaborate with team, customers and internal business partnersto identify areas for cost improvement.
Support the provision of financial information and commercial support to budget ownersand senior management.
Serve as the primary point of contact for commercials on vendor evaluation, qualification, and competitive bidding needs.
Ensure strong oversight expertise to ensure company receives value for costs committed.
Educate internal customers and vendors on all relevant commercial procedures and policies.
Partner with internal customers to positively influencespending decisions.
Assist in the development of formal solicitations (RFT) for equipment and services.
Collaborate with teamsacross the company to ensure all vendor contracts are in place.
Maintain the Database of Vendor contracts and manage contractrenewals on a timely basis.
Analyse financial information to support appropriate business decisions.
Ensure that a robust purchase to pay process is followed across the company.
Ensure that internal control processes are followed in relation to procurement.
Team Management, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement
Manage workload and competence of Procurement & Compliance team.
Build positive working relationships across the organisation.
Support CFO where necessary on ad hoc value-added tasks for the business.
Create and foster a continuous improvement culture within Finance Organisation and with other stakeholders.
Essential Qualifications, Training, and Experience:
Qualified or Part Qualified Professional Accountancy qualification.
DemonstratableProcurement experience.
Strong Excel and PowerPoint modelling skills.
Experience with end-to-end procure-to-pay processes.
Demonstrated creative problem-solving and analytical skills within a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and challenging environment.
Experience in competitive bidding, supplier qualification and supplier management (minimum 1+ years).
Demonstrated ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners/partners to overcome obstacles and deliver results.
Excellent communicationand negotiation skills
Financial Modelling skills in MS Excel
