Financial Controller - Construction | Wicklow (Hybrid)
Location: Wicklow (Hybrid - three days on-site, two days WFH after six months)
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Transport: Own car required due to location
Are you a commercially driven financial controller with experience in the construction industry? Do you thrive in fast-paced environments, leading teams, and optimising financial performance? This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of afinance function within a well-established company and play a key role in its strategic growth.
Key responsibilities:
* Partnering with the finance director to drive the financial strategy and performance of the business
* Leading and managing a finance team of four, ensuring high performance and efficiency
* Overseeing all aspects of payroll, supplier, and subcontractorfinancial functions
* Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, along with other financial reports
* Maintaining and managing multi-currency and multi-jurisdictional transactions, ensuring compliance
* Reviewing and authorising payment files on banking platforms
* Ensuring full regulatory compliance (VAT, tax, and other financial obligations across various jurisdictions)
* Preparing annual budgets and cashflow forecasts (short-term and long-term)
* Collaborating with the commercial department to ensure accuracy in cost estimations for projects
* Supporting external audits and working with tax advisors and global payroll teams
* Driving continuous improvement, streamlining financial processes, and implementing efficienciesWhat we're looking for:
* Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) with a minimum of three years post-qualification experience
* Five or more years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry
* Strong understanding of European accounting principles, currency transfers, and multi-jurisdictional finance
* Proven ability to lead, mentor,and develop teams in a dynamic environment
* Highly commercially aware, with a proactive, results-driven mindset
* Strong ITskills, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
* Excellent organisational and analytical skills, with the abilityto provide actionable financial insights
* High levels of integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
* A full driver's licence is required due to the location
