My client is a privately owned market leader in the wholesale distribution of electrical products through a national network of branches. Trading from over 300 plus locations with more than 100,000 customers nationwide. The Wales & West Region is a key part of this business and as part of their plans for the continued growth and expansion of the Region, they are relocating the Regional Credit Office to South Wales (Port Talbot).
This presents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a high calibre Credit Manager or Finance Professional seeking to apply their finance skills and academic knowledge in a vibrant commercial risk management environment.
The Position and duties for Regional Credit Manager:
Based in Port Talbot and reporting directly to the Regional Director, the Regional Credit Manager is fully responsible for the leadership, direction, and development of a team of staff controlling all commercial credit risk exposures in theRegion.
Key activities will involve:
* Full management responsibility for the Regional Credit Office and for a team of staff
* The evaluation and appraisal of new credit account applications and the ongoing review and management of existing risksand exposures. This will involve regular travel throughout the Region meeting branch managers and developing and maintaining excellent relationships with customers at a senior level
* Providing expert technical advice and guidance to branch managers onany credit related matters that arise at branches in the Region
* Implementation of the company's credit management policy andservice level requirements including appropriate debt recovery action through the Courts where necessary
Requirements for Regional Credit Manager:
* Experience in a finance or commercial credit management role with the successful management ofa team of staff
* Ideally 5+ years' experience
* Ideally a degree or degree level professional qualification, preferably accountancy or finance based
* Ideally a sound knowledge of balance sheet appraisal techniques and, preferably, experience of applying such techniques in a commercial credit, risk appraisal capacity
* You will need to be a self-starting people focused individual showing a strong minded and assertive personality. Excellent communication and negotiation skills will be required.In return you will receive:
