We have a excellent opportunity for a Taxation Senior to join a growing firm based in Athlone CoWestmeath. This is a full time , permanent position. Our client are one of Ireland's leading business advisory and accountancy firms. With 60 years of experience providing professional advisory services to a range of clients in the mid to large corporate market in Ireland.
The Role
The position will involve delivery of quality taxation advice to an extensive client baseacross all tax heads, together with the completion of all normal duties associated with a busy tax department. The role will involve working closely with more senior staff within the Tax division.
Specifically, duties include:
* Manage a portfolio of personal and corporate income tax clients including preparation/review of tax computations and returns and ensuring clients' returns and tax payments are correct and filed on time.
* Undertaking tax compliance and specific consultancy assignments in all areas of tax, to include Income Tax, Corporation Tax, CGT, CAT.
* Identification of reliefs and opportunities to mitigate clients' tax liabilities and advising thereon.
* Reporting to the tax director and partner in relation to client portfolio.
*Undertaking and leading out certain consultancy assignments where appropriate.
* Participate on a daily basis with accountingstaff on specific assignments.
* Direct contact with clients, the Tax Office, Solicitors, other Accountancy, Law and Professional Firms in the delivery of Client Service.
* Assist and/or take responsibility for Revenue Audits including PAYE, VAT, CAT inspections, etc.
* Review/Manage work of junior staff.
* Assist with on-going tax training throughout the office.
* Participate in and bring forward business development initiatives to support the growth and development of the Tax Department and theprovision of service to clients.
Key Skills
* Be fully aware and conversant with Irish tax legislation and tax compliance obligations for clients.
* Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of clients and staff.
* Ability to work in a multi-Partner environment and be a team player who will liaise confidently with other departments, and be aware of opportunities for the Firm as a whole.
* Experience in delegating and managing the work of junior staff.
* Ability to work to deadlines and to manage competing deadlines.
* Require an appreciation of the importance of continuous training (CPD).
* Confidential in all undertakings, and ability to work efficientlyon own initiative and ability to work to strict deadlines.
