If you are an inquisitive Manufacturing Engineer with a desire to expose yourself to a mixture of high volume process automation and low volume, human interface manufacturing then this role is for you!You will join a business with a strong order book, diverse customer base and a genuine desire to progress both their customer offering and manufacturing processes, and that is where you come in!
The Manufacturing Engineer will focus time on these coremanufacturing processes:
* Laser Cutting
* Rolling mill forming
* Pressing
* Mig & Tig Welding
* Metal Polishing
* Press brake
Within these core production areas, your role will be to support existing production through the resolutionof manufacturing problems and to introduce and implement new and improved manufacturing, including automation and robotics where appropriate.
The duties of the manufacturing Engineer:
* Facilitate the launch of new products by interpreting and processing CAD data, generating 2D drawings, DXF files, and producing drawings essential for laser, brake press, and other crucial processes.
* Assist in specifying new jigs, tooling, and equipment, as well as contribute to product and process design.* Plan, develop, coordinate, implement, and seamlessly transition the manufacturing process from engineering to production, achieving specified levels of output, quality, and efficiency.
* Offer technical support to production and engineering teams inthe operation and maintenance of jigs, tooling, and assembly equipment.
* Analyse and report on various production aspects, including processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, machine availability, and waste management, actively driving process improvements.
* Support the integration and optimisation of robotics and automation to enhance throughput and efficiency.* Maintain strict adherence to APQP documentation, systems, and procedures, leading activities such as DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFMA.* Actively participate in the Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring comprehensive coverage of business requirements.* Develop Project Timing Plans and ensure the timely delivery of projects according to the established plans.
The successful Manufacturing Engineer:
* Qualifications: Ideally time served, have qualifications in an engineering disciplineor have significant relevant experience in a similar role.
* Have proven capability in the use of relevant CAD packages (e.g.,Catia, SolidWorks etc)
* Demonstrate ability to introduce new equipment, jigs, tooling and processes.
* Be quality driven and possess excellent analytical, problem solving and technical skills.
* Effective time management & Strong communicationskills
* Proven ability to develop others.
