We are actively seeking an experienced and talented Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Milton Keynes. As part of a small, dedicated group, you will play a pivotal role in supplying high-quality designs to a range of demanding automotive businesses. This is your opportunity to contribute to the continued growth and success of our division as a Mechanical Design Engineer.The Role:
In this role, you will work on an exciting and diverse range of automotive products, focusing on the following key areas:
* Utilizing Siemens NX (Version 11), create 3D CAD schemes that align with the product brief, encompassing functional and aesthetic requirements.
* Perform essential design calculations such as bending calculations, torque analysis, and tolerance stacks, among others.
* Collaborate with project stakeholders to address design and functionality issues and findeffective solutions.
* Proactively manage Design for Manufacture, measurability, and testing concerns.
* Complete DFMEA andother necessary automotive paperwork requirements.
* Efficiently manage your workload, handling 5 to 10 projects simultaneously, with an average completion time of 6 weeks per project.
* Take charge of engineering change requests and oversee the integration of customer and supplier CAD information.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for a talented and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer who possesses the following:
* Hands-on experience in mechanical product design, preferably within theautomotive industry. However, if you possess strong fundamental knowledge of designing for relevant processes, we encourage youto apply.
* Highly desirable expertise in designing for processes such as injection moulding, metal fabrication, drape forming, aluminium and plastic extrusion.
* Proficiency in Siemens NX is essential, as you will be responsible for the majority of CAD model generation within our European business.
* Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative designs while working within defined functional constraints.
