Description:
We're currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team atthe Milton Keynes site on a contract basis. This is a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to be on-site for 2 days perweek, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remainder. The initial duration of the position is 12 months, with potential for extension based on performance evaluation.
The Mechanical Design Engineer Role:
The selected candidate will be tasked with designing components within the Mounting Systems for a next-generation battery pack project.
* Ensuring robust design and compatibility with other subsystems and components
* Specifying, designing, and creating drawings for mechanical elements
* Meeting quantitative targets while ensuring a robust design on the first attempt
* Implementing DFMEA, Engineering Specifications, Standards, and Design Rules
* Leading resolution efforts for mechanical component failures during validation
* Supporting Lead Engineers and Commodity Owners in supplier reviews and tooling development
The Mechanical DesignEngineer Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
* Proficiency in CREO CAD or advanced expertise in other CAD software
* Self-driven, proactive attitude
* Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical design principles
* Experience with plastic injection moulding, casting, or fabricationdesign is highly desirable
