This is the perfect vacancy for an existing Deputy Manager or a Senior Carer/ Team Leader looking for more autonomy within a role!
First City Care Group has an exciting opportunity for a Deputy Manager to assist in the delivery of a domiciliary care service and lead on training in the Isle of Wight.
You will be expected to supportthe Registered Manger with; growth of the business, taking on new packages, developing the hours of delivery supplied and covering in their absence to ensure standards of care are maintained in line with First City's Policies and procedures.
You will help to service the effective recruitment, induction and training of the work force (eg. Support Staff, Team leaders, Senior Cares and care assistants). Identify ongoing training needs and make sure staff are up to date with current best practice.
Ensure there are sufficient numbers of suitably qualified staff allocated appropriately to meet service needs at all times. Implementcompany policy and procedures in relation to managing absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance matters Provide information, guidance and ongoing supervision to enable staff to effectively and safely carry out their roles. Support appraisals and monitoring of staff performance.
Ensure all emergency on-call issues are dealt with effectively, such as covering calls eitherdirectly or indirectly when care assistants are sick or absent. Be an ambassador for First City representing the business and where necessary attend external meetings and events.

* Hold or be willing to work towards level 3 in Adult social care (or equivalent)
* Hold a Train the trainer qualification
* Experience of building positive working relationships with people who use services and their families, staff and other health and social care professionals.
* Ability to support customers with all aspects of their daily living in a manner that respects their dignity, is non-judgmental and promotes their independence, choices and privacy.
* Experience of care services, risk assessment and person-centred care and support.
* Ability to plan and organise workloads effectivelyso customers receive the services they expect.
* Good administrative skills and computer literacy.
* Ability to maintain clear written and electronic records and to follow statutory reporting procedures.
* Ability to implement policies, proceduresand instructions.
* You'll be the main point of contact with the Local Authority, GP's, healthcare professionals and service user's families.
* You'll ensure that the domiciliary care service is meeting CQC requirements.
* Full Driving Licence with access you a vehicle as this role will require some
You will based in our Newport office and will report to The Registered Manager and The Head of quality, operations & Regulated services
Hours are 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Friday and emergency back-up when required
