6/9-month contract - NHS Trust, London
£ 361 per day
Hybrid Working

Overview:
My client is an NHS Trust based in Lewisham. You will be responsible for leading and managing the Medical Workforce service, ensuring the provision of strategic and operational support and expert advice on matters relating to the Trust's medical workforce. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Workforce.
You will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of a high- quality medical staffing service across the Trust. Youwill also co-ordinate the implementation HR projects including QIPP schemes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Lead on alloperational medical staffing issues for the Trust.
* Lead on all medical education operational services for the trust
* Ensure delivery of an effective, day to day medical staffing and medical education service including some parts of Recruitment to key consultant and associate/specialty medical roles
* Support Trust rota compliance and rota redesign, including trainees, inline with all contractual requirements and HEE, utilising Rostering and Job Planning systems.
* Ensure effective administration of the Clinical Excellence Awards process
* Work with the Trust's Guardian of Safe Working Hours to establish related systems and processes in support of the Junior Doctors' Contract
* will take a lead in the development and implementation of innovative approaches to the development and deployment of the medical workforce external insight
* lead on the partnership working relationship with the LNC and other Medical Unions, Colleges, HEE and staff side representatives.
* take the lead in overseeingthe development and implementation of Trusts' policy and process changes as they apply to the Medical workforce.

Experience:* Sound working knowledge of employment legislation and HR practice gained via significant previous experience working in an HR environment
* Working knowledge of NHS and all Medical & Dental Terms & Conditions of Service
* Comprehensive and up to date knowledge of all medical contracts, including the Junior Doctors' Contract 2016
* Specific knowledge/understanding of pay in relation to the Junior Doctors' Contract 2016 as well as associated processes including exception reporting
* Experience of medical specific recruitment (AAC/Doctors in Training)
* Experience of supervising, supporting and developing a team
* Good knowledge of equality and diversity issues
* Knowledge/experience of using Skills for Health Doctors' Rostering System (DRS), or similar, and eRostering
* Experience of successful project delivery both within own area of responsibility and across departments, functions teams or organisations
* In depth knowledge of employment law and employee relations practice, including MHPS, and their contribution to business success

Skills:

* Ability to line manage staff effectively
* Abilityto prioritise and re-prioritise, whilst ensuring delivery and escalating when necessary and as soon as necessary
* Ability tonegotiate, persuade and influence
* Effective project management skills, including risk management, reporting and monitoring,ensuring robust governance and stakeholder engagement
* Able to work to agreed deadlines
* Computer literate e.g. MicrosoftWord, Excel, Outlook, Oracle based systems, DRS, eRostering

* Demonstrable proactive approach to work
* Ability to use owninitiative and judgement in dealing with complex problems or queries
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a varied workload and conflicting deadlines
* Ability to analyse and make judgements involving complex facts or situations
