What You'll Be Doing:
As a Secondary Teacher in our SEND provision, you will:
* Teach Functional Skills: Help students develop practical skills in English, Maths, and ICT, enabling them to become more independent after school.* Promote Independence: Use life skills lessons and strategies to support students in gaining independence and preparing for life beyond school.
* Differentiate Instruction: Tailor your lessons to meet the varying needs and abilities of students, ensuring they gain functional skills at a pace that suits them.
* Support Social and Emotional Development: Encourage students to build confidence and teamwork through engaging activities and positive reinforcement.
* Behaviour Management: Use positive strategies to create a supportive and safe learning environment for students.
* Collaborate with Staff: Work alongside SENCOs and other teachers to ensure the holistic development of each student.
Who We're Looking For:
* Secondary Teachers passionateabout transitioning into SEND education and supporting students with additional learning needs.
* Experience or Willingness toTeach Functional Skills in areas such as English, Maths, and ICT.
* Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage, motivate,and support students with SEND and functional skills development.
* Empathy and Patience: A genuine interest in helping students become more independent and confident in their lives beyond school.
* Adaptability: Willing to adjust teaching methods tomeet the needs of all students.
* DBS Check: You will need or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
