Contract Type: Permanent, Full-time
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £22,906 - £23,621 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hourly Rate: £12.82 - £13.22 per hour

As part of this Trusts expansion, they are thrilled to be opening a brand-new SEND Secondary School in Horsham in 2025, dedicated to supporting neurodivergent students aged 11-16. Many of their students will be transitioning from mainstream education to benefit from a small, nurturing environment, where they can access an adapted National Curriculum with specialist support for their sensory and emotional needs.

At this SEN school, they aimto provide a calm, inclusive, and affirming space for both students and staff. With a balanced cohort of children, they focus onindividualised learning, well-being, and enrichment to help every student thrive.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals seeking a meaningful career in SEN education with extensive training and development opportunities. As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Support students in class, helping them engage with learning in a way that works for them.
* Work closely with therapists and clinicians, implementing strategies to support students' emotional and sensory needs.
* Providepersonalised learning support, ensuring each young person receives the guidance they need.
* Build strong relationships withstudents, prioritising their well-being and personal development.
* Contribute to school life, including parent communicationand enrichment activities such as outdoor learning, sports (including swimming), visits, and community projects.

Duties may vary, and you will be expected to contribute flexibly to the overall aims of this SEN School.

Ideal candidates will have:

* A strong interest in therapeutic approaches and neurodiversity.
* A qualification or keen interest in psychology.
* Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEND, or the ability to learn quickly.
* A growth mindset, resilience, and adaptability.

Essential requirements:

* GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent).
* Working towards or holding a Level 2 Award in Support Work in Schools (or equivalent).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as IT competency.
* A commitment to neuro-affirmative practice,safeguarding, and student well-being.
