Description:
A business with long term success and sustainable growth are seeking to recruit a Design Engineer on a six-monthContract basis with hybrid working (approx. 1 or 2 days a week on site) and the strong potential for extension.
The Mechanical Design Engineer role:
* Uses PTC Creo Parametric 7 to develop 3D Models and 2D Drawings of turbocharger components and assemblies.
* Takes engineering aerodynamic profiles develops turbocharger components to comply with customer space constraints (engine chassis pipework etc), other turbo-machinery interfaces.
* Works with an understanding of the application, product life, cost, manufacturing processes, assembly, and service.
* Creation of 2D Manufacturing drawings.
The SuccessfulMechanical Design Engineer:
* Likely to be educated to Masters of Science, Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree in engineering.
* Experienced in casting design and with an understanding of varied machining processes.
* Understands the basics ofaerodynamic design and finite element stress analysis and able to work collaboratively with other functions to result in a robust design solution
* Intermediate level of relevant work experience required, such as responsibility for several components ofa project or a complex component of a project.
* Proficient in PTC Creo Parametric 7
* Exposure to PTC Windchill to a working level
