MCG Construction has a new opportunity for a qualified Design Engineer for a major contract in Stoke On Trent.
What will I be doing?
Responsible for all aspects of design within a team delivering the complete design ofproducts and water processing plants.

Job requires a good knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the rangeof processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts & principles upon which the job is based.

The knowledge can be acquired through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience. The skills and knowledge level can be equivalent to a specialised level within a skilled trade, but are generally non-theoretical skills
*
Ensuring drawings, BOMs, specifications, and other engineering information is produced in a timely manner in accordance with agreed timescales.
*
Generate 2D and 3D drawings and models based upon the information provided and based upon the individual's experience and knowledge.
*
Ensure that the design produced is commercially and technically the best possible.
*
Maintain standards that conform to the standards and company procedures.
*
Generate occasional electrical drawings based on information provided by the C&I Engineering Team.
*
Produce designs that are compliant with health, safety and environmental legislative requirements.
*
Working closely with Product Managers, Process Engineers and Electrical Design Engineers.
*
General administration duties including modificationnotes, QA procedures and document control
Do I have what it takes?
*
Experience with 3D software, proven experience with 3D Cad software i.e. CREO, Inventor or Solidworks as an alternative would be useful.
*
Proven experience in using Windchill PDM package, proven experience with a similar PDM package as an alternative is desirable.
*
Experience of practical design and manufacturing would be an advantage.
*
Excellent communications skills, both verbally and in writing. Able to explain things in a clear and concise manner.
*
Experience in the water treatment industry would be an advantage.*
A high degree of flexibility is required to ensure project targets are met.
*
Security is a vital part of product development and the position is subject to the signing of a confidentiality agreement.
*
Good levels of experience and competence in drawing and performing basic interpretation of P&ID's.
*
Ability and experience of being able to work to a dead-lines and to plan tasks around the timescales of others, with excellent time management skills.
*
Basic design knowledge and experience of equipment and technologies used commonly within the water treatment industries (eg. Pumps, pipework, valvesand tanks).
*
Ability to review the designs of others (colleagues, supplier and clients) and provide supporting comments where applicable.
*
Without direct supervision to have an ability to proactively find information and answers so that design work is allowed to progress.
*
A passion for delivering excellent customer service.
*
Technical competence and excellent problem solving skills.
*
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
*
Comfortable working within a team environment.
