EBME Manager - RNOH Stanmore
An Equipment Management Professional is required for thedelivery of Clinical Engineering support for a wide of range of medical devices. To advise on technical and clinical matters relating to the management of these medical devices and medical equipment. Lead responsibility for the continuous improvement and implementation of policy and process development, clinical governance, and quality systems. Direct line management responsibilityfor Team Lead, Engineers, Library Technicians and onsite administrator.
Main duties of the role will be;
* Applying technology to patient critical equipment including the specification, evaluation, commissioning, maintenance, and investigation of incidents
* Lead responsibility for the development and implementation of arrangements, policy and process development and quality systems relating to medical devices across the company.
* Responsible for review and updating of existing procedures and developing a more robust system for all aspects of clinical equipment management.
* Responsible for line management and supervision of engineers and library technicians on site, setting objectives, appraisals, planning the work schedule and supporting/mentoring as appropriate with full support of Site Service Manager.
* Responsible for service delivery of prompt, high quality and professional engineering support to a broad range of medical equipment including a medical equipment library.
* Ensuring equipment management good practices are implemented and followed, including planned and reactive maintenance, asset lifecycle management and service contract monitoring.
* Supervise and take responsibility for investigation of incidents involving medical devices
* Take the lead role in liaison with MHRA, CQC, NHS LA and other regulators and implement procedures to comply as required
* Responsible for audit of clinical equipment, database content and keeping records up to date
* Attend the Medical Devices Committees and other Trust meetings as required
* Support the Service Manager and deputise as required
What you will need;
* You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, commercial awareness, and a demonstrable ability to manage and motivate staff.
* You should have a post graduate degree or equivalent knowledge and experience and will ideally be registered on the VRCT or IPEM.
* HND in Electronics or equivalent
* Clinical equipment management experience
* Understanding of clinical work flows and able to work to deadlines
* Extensive knowledge of MHRA DB2006 (05) and associated documents
*Worked with senior NHS clinical staff
