Electrical Qualifying Supervisor - National - £43,721 & Car
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Electrical Safety Coordinator to ensure compliance with NICEIC Registration standards and oversee electrical safety practices within our organization. As the Electrical Safety Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in maintaining asafe working environment and promoting adherence to electrical safety procedures.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and enforce electrical safety procedures, including live and dead working processes, in accordance with NICEIC Registration requirements.* Facilitate and oversee the process for electrical installation and minor works certification, conducting a minimum of 10% audits on minor works and 100% audits on installation certifications.
* Provide specialized support on electrical issues and coordinate related activities.
* Ensure annual calibration of all electrical test equipment and maintain accurate records.
* Assist in delivering an effective electrical safety process, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and promoting a safe working environment for employees, clients, and stakeholders involved in electrical work.
Key Accountabilities:
Safety:
*Take responsibility for day-to-day compliance with health and safety regulations related to electrical work.
* Develop and communicate an electrical safety policy and guidelines for field engineers.
* Establish and maintain safe systems of work, ensuring competent personnel and adequate supervision for all electrical tasks.
* Ensure the safety, technical standard, and qualityof electrical work under your supervision.
People:
* Stay updated with technical developments through training courses.* Continuously improve personal job skills and knowledge.
Excellence:
* Conduct regular audits and inspections of electrical work, including minor works, completed by both internal and subcontracted personnel.
* Review and assess PAT testing PPMs completed by subcontractors.
* Support the Head of Compliance in conducting audits for statutory inspections.
Service:* Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and industry standards.
* Issue appropriate forms of certification and reporting for electrical work.
* Maintain documentation and records in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
Financial Responsibilities:
* Identify and pursue business development opportunities within the allocated budget to enhance customer services.
* Manage capital plans and projects in collaboration with the customer and designated managers, ensuring timely completion within the specified budget.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Possess an Electrical Competency Qualification (minimum NVQ Level 3/City & Guilds or equivalent), 18th edition, and City & Guilds 2391 'Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations' or equivalent.
* Have a GCSE standard education.
* Hold an apprentice-served electrician certification with appropriate City & Guilds qualification.
* Demonstrate at least two consecutive years of managerial or supervisory responsibility for electrical installation work.
* Proficient in 3-phase electrics and its applications.
* Able to maintain and repair various electrical and mechanical equipment to recognized standards.
* Capable of working with minimum supervision.
* Familiar with inspection, testing, verification, certification, and reporting procedures for electrical work.
