Description:
Role Title: Field Service Engineer - Waltham Forest, London - £23k plus £2k PRP bonus plus on-call bonus of £180 per week on-call.
Reporting To: Regional Team Leader
Role Duration: Permanent - 40 Hours a week
Purpose of the Role:
As a Field Service Engineer (FSE) you are responsible for fault finding, repairing, demonstrating, delivering,and collecting equipment to and from the service user's home, or other institutions, hospitals, care homes or schools. In addition, FSE's are responsible for ensuring they offer a courteous and empathetic service to all customers and that standards of service, as laid down by the company, are always met.
Responsibilities:
· Efficiently repair both manual and powered wheelchairs at service user's home and other locations to the highest standard of workmanship.
· To deliver and demonstrate use of chairs to service users according to the handover procedure.
· To carry out planned preventive maintenance on powered and manual chairs.
· To complete your daily round of jobs as booked by the customer service team.
· To respond to emergency repairs promptly as and when required throughout your daily round.
· If on visiting in response to a repair request the client is unavailable, a card shall be left informing the client that the visit had been made.
· To ensure that all used products are covered with orange bags during transit and separated from new/issue goods, so as to negate the possibility of service user cross infection (on and off site).
· To ensure that all required equipment, parts and wheelchairs are checked for your daily round prior toleaving the service centre.
· To be responsible for the serviceability and security of your vehicle as per company procedures.· To comply with all instructions detailed on job sheets and that returned paperwork is accurately updated and completed, ensuring you obtain the client or their carer's signature.
· To ensure your required van stock level is always maintained.
· Toalways observe all Health and Safety procedures and company policies.
· To drive your vehicle in a courteous and safe manner(staying in line with speed limits and always observing safe driving techniques) and paying particular attention to other road users. Ensuring your continuous compliance with the Drivers Handbook.
· In the event of a vehicle accident this must be reported in accordance with the Drivers Handbook and reported immediately to your Line Manager.
· To be responsible for the safe andsecure loading/unloading of your vehicle.
· To comply with contract and ISO9001:2015 specifications, processes, and procedures.
Additional Accountability's:
· The above list of duties is not intended to be exhaustive and you will be required to undertake any other duties commensurate with the grade and in line with the requirements of the post that fall outside of this positions remit.
· Within reason, you may be required to work outside of your standard contracted hours to meet the needs of the business.
· After the training period, you will be expected to participate in the emergency call out rota for which you will receive associated payment.
· As part of your ongoing development, you may be required to undertake training in order to meet the requirements of your role.
· It is a requirement of this role that a satisfactory DBS check is maintained throughout employment in this position.
· The job holder is required to acknowledge, understand and abide by all policies relating to his/her employment.

· It is a requirement of this role that a satisfactory enhanced DBS check with child and adult barring lists checks is maintained throughout employment in this position.
· As this role will include working within a CQC registered care home, it is a legal requirement that you are fully Covid-19 vaccinated unless you have a medical exemption. Evidence of vaccinations or medical exemption letter is required.
Performance Indicators:
* The jobholder will be required to meet the physical demands of the role
* The post holder will be involved in evaluation, testing, transport, installation, commissioning, setting-up, programming, operation, monitoring of operational and supply parameters, adjustment, maintenance, repair, development, de-commissioning, packing and un-packing. This will involve repetitive equipment testing; working in awkward positions and some lifting of heavy equipment (Greater than 15Kg).
* Uniform is required to be worn for this role. Adherence to our Dress Code Policy is always a requirement during work.
Mental Factors
The post holder will be required to maintain concentration in a busy environment with interruptions.
The post holder will be responsible for largely routine and predictable work covering some or all the activities relating to the use of medical devices in a healthcare environment.
Emotional Factors
The post holder may be exposed to difficult situations involving patients in palliative care.
Occasional exposure to stressful situations following the failure of a medical device attached to patient.
Vaccinations
Cover for Hepatitis B is recommended.
Essential Qualifications:
* Clean Driving Licence essential valid in the UK
* Any relevant qualifications in electronics or engineering
* NVQ or degree in an engineering relatedsubject (Desirable)
Skills:
* Good geographical knowledge of the local area
* Good communications skills
Experience:
* Proven understanding of mechanical or electrical engineering
