HVAC Design Engineer - West Midlands - £40,000 -Pension, Free Parking, Healthcare, Early finish Fridays etc.
Our client are a premier Heating, Ventilation and Air Cooling (HVAC) company offering energy efficient and sustainable products and solutions that exceed customer expectations through employee's commitment to quality, customer service and operational excellence.
Main purpose of the role will be to design and develop new innovative and existing products to ensure solutions meet customer, regulatory and manufacturing requirements as defined in the design brief.
Key Duties will be;
* Product design and continuous improvement of products to suit both internal andexternal manufacturing processes.
* Ensuring designs embody our simplification objectives which add value to both internal and external stakeholders
* Product lifecycle from concept to launch including ideas, design brief, concept, prototype, feasibility, detail design, validation, launch, and ongoing improvements until discontinuation
* Generate manufacturing drawings and BoMs adhering to internal drawing standards.
* Maintain drawings and electronic documents relating to new products and Engineering change control systems.
* Generating and/or maintaining drawing in the following packages: AutoCAD, SolidWorks, IDEA's andCREO.
* Working with development colleagues and involvement in prototype build and testing to ensure reliable and safe operation.
* Management of Innovation assigned BoM and Item Master changes in Infoflo.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills/experience;
* Bachelor's degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering
* Proficient in use of AutoCAD and SolidWorkswithin EPDM in creating models, assemblies and drawings.
* Knowledge and experience in using IDEA's and CREO/Windchill in maintaining and updating models, assemblies and drawings.
* Experience of component and assembly design for manufacture. Includingbut not limited to, sheet metal and fabrication design.
* Previous experience with product design within the HVAC industry.* Experience with Microsoft Excel for data interrogation and analysis of BoMs.
* Experience of using Infoflo MRP system to update BoM's.
