Are you a skilled Manufacturing Engineer seeking an exciting opportunity to contribute to Assembly and Test processes? We are actively looking for a Contract Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team in the Darlington area. As a Contract Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and coaching a team of Graduate Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Technicians to support various areas of our assembly line.You will be responsible for key business projects that drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery. Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will have the chance to make a real impact on our operations.



Key Responsibilities:



* Ensure a safe working environment for all areas of the Assembly Process.
* Provide Manufacturing skills and technical solutions for all aspects of the Engine Assembly Processes.
* Lead Process (P) FMEA's and continuously develop them to establish a robust Assembly Process, minimising assembly defects.
* Assist in identifying capital equipment requirements and provide project support for the introduction of new equipment.
* Develop or redesign workstation layouts to enhanceefficiency and accommodate new tooling and products.
* Create Work Instructions (WI) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)for new processes within the Assembly Process.
* Review and implement Engineering Releases for all areas of the Assembly Process.
* Support Industrial Engineering (IE) activities, such as line balancing and workstation takt time, to establish a capableprocess for daily/hourly build rates.
* Lead Manufacturing Change Request (MCR) projects for Safety and Quality improvement work and complete associated Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
* Manage the Manufacturing Engineering controllable expense budgets related to tooling, fixtures, and project expenses.

The Successful Manufacturing Engineer:

* Proven experience working in a similar role within an Assembly-related Manufacturing environment.
* Industrial Engineering (IE) skills are preferred,but not essential.
* Knowledge of Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing tools is preferred, but not essential.
* Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
* Proficient computer skills, includingMicrosoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel, etc.).
* Solid understanding of Manufacturing processes.
* Ability to workindependently as well as collaboratively within a team.
* Excellent communication skills for effective participation in multi-functional department meetings and reviews.
* Proactive approach to decision-making to ensure accurate business decisions.
*Ability to multitask and lead multiple projects simultaneously.
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
* Solid overall knowledge of the Automotive/Manufacturing industry or relevant experience within this field.
