As we expand and evolve, we are now seeking a dedicated and results-driven Engineering Buyer to join our team and play a crucial role in our growth and success.



Job Brief:

As our Engineering Buyer, you will have the exciting opportunity to lead our procurement efforts, source and purchase materials and engineering parts, and manage our supplier relationships. You will collaborate closely with various departments including production,technical, and quality to ensure that we meet our operational requirements effectively.



Engineering Buyer Core Responsibilities:

* Purchasing Excellence: Procure materials and engineering parts, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
* Demand Forecasting: Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to prevent shortages and excess inventory.
* Data-Driven Decision-Making: Track and report KPIs to reduce expenses and enhance procurement effectiveness, producing regular procurement reportsfor management.
* Inventory Management: Utilise the Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system to identify materials required and maintain accurate item master data in the ERP.
* Efficient Procurement: Create precise Purchase Orders and purchasing forecasts while supporting the sales and technical departments by raising RFQs, evaluating responses, and making recommendations.* Streamlined Operations: Assist goods-in with booking queries and liaise with accounts payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
* Supplier Collaboration: Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery lead-times with suppliers, practising effective supplier account management.
* On-Time Delivery: Expedite orders and minimise shortages, supporting the Production Manager in ensuring on-time delivery to customer due dates.
* Cost Optimisation: Identify new and alternate suppliers, reducing materials costs andrenegotiating terms without compromising on quality.
* Logistics Expertise: Handle incoming logistics, including sea and airfreight.



Qualifications:

* Proven experience in procurement and supply chain management.
* Strong knowledge of metals and engineering commodities.
* Proficiency in using Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) systems.
* Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Effective communication andinterpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
