Description:
We are seeking a Materials Science Engineer for our Huddersfield site. This is a 12-month onsite role with the possibility of extension or transition to a permanent contract.
Ideal candidates will have 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science/Engineering or a related field.
Experience in the automotive industry is beneficial but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead laboratory requestsand small projects.
* Test and approve components against internal specifications.
* Provide feedback to design reviews.* Conduct failure analysis of test and field components.
* Support R&D projects related to aluminium components and processing.
Required Skills and Experience:
* Experience with aluminium alloys.
* Proficiency in failure analysis and problem-solving.
* Industrial experience, particularly in automotive, is beneficial.
* Laboratory experience including samplepreparation, microscopy, analysis, and reporting.
* Knowledge of materials characterisation equipment (metallographic preparation, optical microscopy, SEM).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
