Are you a Senior/Principle Engineer with quality experience working on Highways?

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior/Principal Bridge Engineer to join as established Structures team based in Carlisle, working across a varied range of regional and UK projects.

We are recruiting for a leading construction consultancy looking to add a Principal Highways Engineer to their team!



Job Description:

You will provide technical support into assigned projects under professional supervision for the successful delivery of a wide array projects.
You will work in collaboration withother design disciplines in Common Data Environments and acquire the knowledge and practical skills through on-the-job learning.Some of your roles and responsibilities include:



What you'll be doing:

* Preparation of technical outputs to the highest standards in accordance with the Companies quality management system.
* Resolving technical civil engineering issues.* Help to develop the production of drawings, reports and specifications.
* Scope and supervise surveys.
* Opportunity to work under mentorship to develop and undertake CRE responsibilities on Rail projects.
* Becoming familiar and compliant with relevant Health, Safety and Welfare regulations and to promote the companies SHEW culture within your team.
* Operate in a multi-disciplinary environment and delivering projects in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
* Undertaking the necessary design (calculations, design, risk assessments, etc.) supported by other team members including technicians to produce the required design deliverable outputs.
* Management and ownership of project tasks.



What we're looking for:

* Experience of working inthe UK rail industry with good working knowledge of Network Rail Grip process / standards and approval processes.
* Ability to manage project teams & project &/or project tasks.
A Bachelors or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject accredited by the Engineering Council.
* Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or nearing Chartered status.
* Experience in delivering and managing all stages of multi-disciplinary engineering projects from initial studies through to detailed design.
* Working knowledge of the relevant legislation and guidelines including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, British and European Standards, Eurocodes and Codes of Practice.
* Typically, a minimum of 5-8 years' experience working in the Rail/Highways sector.
