The objective of this role isto run preventative and reactive engineering support to an intricate and fully integrated Security set up. You will also be required to support the operational side of the site by working directly with the Site Head of Security and Security Operatives. What are they looking for from a Resident Integrated Security Engineer?
As a Resident Integrated Security Engineer, you will be site based, reporting directly tothe Operational Support Manager. You will be required to service and maintain verticals such as complex CCTV, Access Control (Electrical / Hydraulic Gates & Turnstiles), Intruder Detection, Integrated Control Systems, PC's and other platforms.
The systems required for a Resident Integrated Security Engineer include:
* Security disciplines, including CCTV, Access Control,Perimeter Intruder Detection, Intercom Systems.
* Integrated Control Systems, comprising of High Availability Servers, PC Workstations and other computer platforms.
* Enterprise networking equipment.
* Copper and Fibre optic data transmission infrastructure.
The duties required from a Resident Integrated Security Engineer include:
* Regularly perform maintenance to any installed equipment and maintain accurate records.
* Provide first line response to Uninterruptible Power Supplies, Electrical & Hydraulic Gates, Barriers and Turnstiles, engaging and supervising specialist contract partners as required.
* Participate in daily meetings with the Site Head of Security, to discuss technical and operational issues related to site security.* Provide monthly reports on system performance and availability to both the client and the companies system management.
* Participate in a standby rota that provides out of hours and weekend cover arrangement for the site.
* Fix any faults reported bythe site.
* Regularly test the system to maintain performance.
* Maintain mission critical spares holding.
* Prepare system and performance reports to help the continuous improvement strategy.
* Maintain vigilance and provide feedback on equipment.
* Maintain and update the site asset register.
* Maintain and update all site drawings and manuals.
Personnel
* Understand the fundamentals of, Intruder Detection, Access Control and CCTV systems. (Training will be provided in the specialist equipment installed at this site.)
* You need to be competent within IT networking and configuration, with good PC computing skills to include WIN 10, WIN 7, PC hardware skills to board swap level, and IT abilities in MS Outlook and Excel.
* Have basicelectrical and electronic knowledge that can be applied to diagnosing and rectifying complex system faults.
* Be a well presented individual with the ability to work as part of the client's security operation and be a confident communicator who understands the importance of service and client retention.
* You will also need to be willing to work at heights in exposed locationsand be capable of obtaining MOD SC level vetting.
* In order for our client to maintain their NSI NACOSS Gold accreditation, all staff are required to pass a strict security screening in accordance with BS7858. This involves detailed checks on a candidate's background, including criminal and financial referencing.
* When conditional screening is found satisfactory, candidates can start work with the business. However, full security screening must be completed within 12 weeks of the start date. Further to the standard security clearance completed on all employee's, more detailed vetting is carried out for project specific workwhere risks are much greater.
Hours of work
* 08:30 - 17:00 Monday to Thursday | 08:30 - 16:00 Fridays
* Call out rota: 1 week in 3 covering Heysham & Hartlepool
