A dynamic and rapidly growing tech/vending company, committed to innovation, and we are seekinga dedicated Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a Service Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair of vending machines and tech hardware. Your responsibilities will encompass workshop-based tasksand occasional on-site customer visits, ensuring top-tier service and technical support.
Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Duties:
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the software and operations teams to ensure effective communication and swift problem-solving.
* Commissioning: Efficiently assemble vending machines and related hardware components at our central workshop, including configuring routers, PCs, pay readers, and other necessary equipment.
* Testing: Conduct comprehensive testing of vending machines and hardware to guarantee optimal functionality and performance, addressing any technical issuesduring the commissioning process.
* IT Skills: Display proficient PC skills and a foundations understanding of IT to facilitate the integration of vending machines with our proprietary technology, including basic network setup without advanced networking expertise.
* Preventative Maintenance: Execute planned maintenance services to identify and address potential issues, ensuring vending machines operate at peak efficiency.
* Breakdown and Repair: Respond promptly to breakdown and repair calls, aimingfor a first-time fix to minimize downtime for customers.
* Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of installation and commissioning procedures, including equipment configurations and modifications.
* SLA Adherence: Meet client expectations by attending sites within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and maintaining high service standards.
* Spare Parts Management: Efficiently manage spare parts stock to support machine builds and repairs.
* Customer Interaction: Maintain a professional andpositive attitude while representing the company and providing exceptional customer service.
* Problem Solving: Demonstrate self-motivation and creativity in resolving technical issues related to vending machines.
* Client Training: Provide client training to ensure effective machine operation and troubleshooting.
* Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with the team to report issues and propose solutions.
* Team Collaboration: Act as a team player, supporting colleagues and clients, andcollaborating with the Operations Team for efficient planning and scheduling.
Requirements:
* must have electromechanicalexperience ideally in vending sector .
* A valid UK driving license.
* must be able to be flexible on occasional overtime or weekend work when tight deadlines need to be met.
* Competent PC skills and a basic understanding of IT.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to exceptional service.
* Excellent customer-facing and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to changing business and customer requirements.
* Basic understanding of IP networking principles.
* Willingness to travel across the UK and potentially abroad.
