Description:
We are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer due to a recent acquisition andthe on-boarding of several new suppliers. This is a remote role, and candidates can be based anywhere in the UK. While in normal circumstances, around 25% of the time would be spent onsite at supplier sites (mainly in the Netherlands and Germany), it is expected that this may initially be more frequent due to the on-boarding of new suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be part of a Category-specific team, managing Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activitieswith EMEA suppliers. This role will require some travel within the UK and Europe to service these suppliers, so a valid passport or visa allowing travel to mainland Europe is essential.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
* Participating insupplier evaluation, selection, and strategic sourcing process development.
* Assisting in the supplier corrective action process, including containment, root cause investigation, and corrective action.
* Ensuring suppliers effectively use quality tools.* Collaborating with suppliers to ensure all product requirements are met.
* Reviewing supplier quality resources for new product introductions and current products to reduce supplier-related issues and improve process capabilities.
* Measuring supplier quality performance according to established procedures and driving improvements to meet targets.
* Facilitating continuous improvement activities to reduce defects.
To be successful in this role, you must have:
* Understanding of the PPAP (ProductParts Approval Process) approval process.
* Exposure to AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group) standards.
* Experience with Supplier Quality Core Tools.
* Strong APQP skills.
* Experience in supplier maintenance.
* Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Competencies:
We value candidates who are action-oriented, collaborative, make quality decisions,can persuade effectively, have a solid statistical foundation, and are problem solvers. Additionally, experience in Advanced Product Quality Planning, Dimensional Metrology, Quality System Management, Supplier Quality Management, and Project Issue and RiskManagement is a plus.
Education and Experience:
College, university, or equivalent degree / Time served / H/ONC / HNDin Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject required.
Industry-specific experience will also be considered inthe absence of a degree or formal qualification.
Ideally, 3-5 years of work experience required, but we will consider CVs at alower level with the relevant skills.
