Technical Services Engineer - Chemicals

My client, a leading chemical manufacturer, based in Co. Clare are looking for a Technical Services Engineer to join their team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to clients by recommending products or product modifications. The position will require you to travel 30-40% throughout Europe to customer sites. Youwill also be required to deliver training to both customers and distributors.
Responsibilities: (A snapshot…)
Provide technical support to internal and external customers:
* Assist is in the sales process by evaluating applications and materials, recommend products and conduct customer visits to observe and develop application techniques, audits and presentations.
* Provide field sales with technical data, test results, graphs, and reports.
* Work with field sales & marketing andother groups to generate and analyse market data to identify new products for growth initiatives as needed.
* Test competitiveproducts against portfolio products for specific customer projects or problems and historical data.
* Participate in the commercialization of new product launches coordinating technical data with other essential departments.
* Collaborate with Marketing to produce "Marcom Tools" (Technical Data Sheets, physical property data and technical writing for brochures and trade shows)needed for all brands.
* Be proactive in developing and visiting the appropriate contacts with the Engineering, Materials, orQuality departments of key customers and material manufacturers. Establish and support testing adhesive specifications for major customers.
Requirements:
* A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
* 3 years plus, relevant work experience or understanding in at least one of the following areas: industrial adhesives or protective coatings, mine and/or petrochemical services, mechanical conveying equipment or services.
* NACE Certification will be provided and required
* Knowledge of the production process, equipment, and material flow for the industries of focus. Demonstrated competency for developing and maintaining relationships with Engineering, Procurement and Construction firms. Strong Technical background.
* Ability to lift materials up to 50lbs. Ability to sit and stand for up to 8 hours/day.
