As a Workshop Technician, you'll play a vital role in our Calibration department and Workshop.Your responsibilities will include the hands-on calibration and repair of electro-mechanical devices, high accuracy measuring instruments, and even heavier mechanical assemblies. You'll be working from detailed engineering drawings to assemble special-purpose machinery and vehicles, fitting vehicle hydraulics and mechanical components. Attention to detail and the ability to followspecific instructions are key skills needed to excel in this position.
Here's what you can expect as a Workshop Technician:- Get your hands dirty with the hands-on build and repair of mechanical assemblies, including hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Put your problem-solving skills to the test as you troubleshoot and repair electronic and mechanical components, ensuringthey are quickly back in the hands of their users.
- Collaborate with our stores team to ensure spare parts availability, making you an indispensable member of our workshop.
- Unleash your inner handyman by utilising various hand tools, including some base power tools such as grinders and drills.
What are we looking for in our ideal Workshop Technician candidate?
We need someone with a solid mechanical background, ideally with experience in manufacturing build or vehicle maintenance. If you'vecompleted an apprenticeship in either of these fields, that's a big plus!
You should be confident and skilled in using hand tools, and we encourage you to bring your own set of tools to work (don't worry, any breakages will be promptly replaced). Strongproblem-solving skills are a must, as you'll be tackling challenges both as part of a team and independently. The ability to prioritise and coordinate your own work will also be crucial.
