Internal Tax Manager - 12-18 Month FTC - Southampton (Or regional based offices situated in theSouth / South West)

My client is seeking an Internal Tax Manager to join their central finance team. The Internal Tax Managerrole is offered on either a part-time (3 days per week basis) or full-time (5 days per week basis) and is a fixed term contractof c.12 months providing maternity cover. Good flexibility for The Internal Tax Manager role is provided in terms of days worked and hours, but the typical working day is 9am to 5pm.

The Internal Tax Manager position is offered on a hybrid basis, withsome time spent working in their modern offices in Southampton, and other time at home. My client will also consider applicantswho are keen to be based at one of their other offices, locations all in the South West.

The internal Tax Manager role is responsible for the all partner related tax matters, and leads firm and provides tax compliance and profit allocation and calculation services to an internal client group made up of equity Partners.

About the role...

As the Internal Tax Manager you will have significant partner contact, delivering tax services across the business up to our most senior members of the team. As well as ensuring that all tax operations run smoothly you will use your depth of experience to identify opportunities for ongoingimprovement.

Day to Day:

* This position is responsible for an annual tax compliance cycle. Approximately 50% of time isfocused on tax compliance and the other 50% on Partner Accounting.
* Preparation of the LLP (Limited Liability Partnership) tax computations for their operating businesses -This will include producing analysis of the accounting entries for the tax computation, adjusted taxable profit calculations and capital allowance calculations, for review by our external Tax Advisers.
* Allocation of profits between Partners in accordance with the LLP agreement, including their Leadership Contribution Framework. This is completed within Excel and then transferred into CCH.
* Calculation of personal tax reserves and production of Partner accounting statements using Excel and including capital accounts, current accounts, tax reserves and overlap tax.
* Preparationand submission of Partner personal Tax Returns, using CCH personal tax software. A c.10% sample is reviewed by our external TaxAdvisers. Administration of resulting personal tax payments.

You will support approximately 70 plus internal Partners who greatly value the personal service provided by our Internal Tax Manager role. As such, the successful candidate will find that there is the time to provide a very personal/bespoke service to individuals who truly appreciate the internal tax management service.

About you...

You're likely to have experience gained within a Partnership or in practice, with responsibility for tax management. The preferred candidate will be CTA qualified. Alternatively, you might be ATT qualified with at least 5 years post qualified experience. Either way, you'll be familiar in managing tax compliance for individuals, including working in a hands-onmanner to undertake tax calculations and in submitting tax returns.

You'll likely be comfortable analysing information to make informed decisions. You'll have good Excel knowledge to intermediate or advanced level.

Above all, you'll love working withothers, building strong relationships and providing a friendly service. Whilst the role has a good degree of 'routine tasks', due to the nature of a Partnership model, the role will have a good degree of ad-hoc tasks. You'll enjoy the mix of routine alongwith the satisfaction of working in an environment where no two days are the same.
