Job Title: Senior Transport and Logistics Manager
Location: Dublin City Centre, Dublin 8
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM
About the Role:
We are recruiting for a Senior Transport and Logistics Manager to join our client based in Dublin City Centre. This senior leadership role will act as the primary point of contact between the client and its customer base. You will oversee the Customer Service Team, Retail Staff, and crews across various depots, including Saint James Gate. Your responsibilities will include managing trunking operations, ensuring fleet compliance, and maintaining efficient, compliant logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide leadershipand overall management of the Planners and Customer Service Department within the Retail Office.
* Ensure fleet compliance, including driver hours, tachographs, and CVRT, utilising systems such as Microlise and Truck File.
* Optimise trunking operations between depots to meet business objectives and maintain high operational standards.
* Develop and cross-skill key staff inplanning and customer service to ensure effective cover during absences.
* Act as the senior point of contact, fostering strong relationships between retail operations and customers.
* Control and reduce fleet-related costs, working with third-party logistics (3PL) suppliers and managing purchase orders.
* Oversee payroll and holiday entitlements for retail staff through theTime Management System (TMS).
* Ensure optimal resource utilisation relative to truck numbers and maintain high productivity levels.
* Drive innovation through technology such as Microlise, Truck File, and POD capture systems.
* Lead health and safety initiatives and manage accident reporting within retail operations.
* Oversee scheduling and performance of LA loaders, addressing any loading errors.
* Monitor, manage, and report on business KPIs to achieve organisational objectives.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in a senior Transport Management role.
* Strong proficiency in SAP, Excel, and other MS Office and IT systems.
* Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with experience managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to handle competing priorities.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels.
* Ability to work under pressure,meet tight deadlines, and deliver exceptional customer service.
