Description:
A leading organisation is looking for a dedicated Environmental Sustainability Co-ordinator to drive impactful change. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work across departments, embedding sustainability practices and ensuring environmental goals are met. The successful candidate will develop policies, conduct assessments, and ensure compliance, making it an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong foundation in environmental science.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sustainability goals, policies, and guidelines to align with organisational standards.
* Collaborate with departments to integrate sustainability principles into day-to-day operations, focusing on reducing waste, energy consumption, and carbon emissions.
* Prepare compelling sustainability presentations for customer communications.
* Conduct and manage assessments, inspections, and audits to meet Origin Green, Ecovadis, and CSRD requirements.
* Identify and recommend actions thatreduce environmental impacts while improving cost-efficiency and profitability.
* Build relationships with third-party partners to implement sustainability improvements.
* Monitor employee training programs and support sustainability upskilling.
* Track and monitor KPIs, ensuring action plans are in place to achieve sustainability targets.
* Update and maintain the ApprovedSupplier list, ensuring certifications and specifications are up-to-date.
* Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Candidate Requirements
* A minimum Level 7 qualification in Environmental Science or related field.
* Working knowledge of tools, methods, and concepts of technical/quality assurance within the food industry.
* Familiarity with relevant sustainability regulations and standards.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Excellent data collection, analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
* A keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to sustainability initiatives.
