Overview:
Ensure the safe, efficient, and effective delivery of all aspects of the Outpatient
Pharmacy Service to patients and users by maintaining high standard of
professionalism and safety in accordance with national and local standards (GPhC and DoH).
You will also be requiredto provide day to day leadership and act as a role model for all staff within CW Medicines Ltd and contribute to the efficientmanagement and administration of the business.
Including working collaboratively and co-operatively with the SuperintendentPharmacist and
other Pharmacists to avoid or minimise the use of locum pharmacists
Key Responsibilities:
* Have delegated day-to-day authority for the purchase, receipt and storage of all medicines used by the company.
* Ensure pharmacy stock-holding levels are appropriate, monitored, and are handled safely and securely
* Contribute to developing professional working relationships with suppliers where relevant to promote relevant commercial benefit.
* Manage and develop all pharmacy staff andensure effective recruitment, selection, induction and performance management of an appropriately qualified and flexible team.* To ensure that all activity undertaken is consistent with maintaining registration of the premises with GPhC.
* To ensurethe Medicines (Pharmacies) (Responsible Pharmacist) Regulations 2008 are adhered to at all times and ensure that the 'Pharmacy Record' is maintained at all times.
* To ensure that the principles outlined in the DH publication 'The Safer Management of Controlled Drugs' (CDs) are adhered to all times.
* To contribute to safe and secure medicines practice. This includes medicinesselection, procurement, storage, preparation, dispensing, supply and patient education.
* To support adherence of prescribingpractice to the hospital formulary as advised by the Trust Medicines Group (TMG) at CWHFT.
Qualifications and Experience:* Registration as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Evidence of advanced clinical knowledge, eg. postgraduate clinical qualification, or equivalent experience.
* Experience as a qualified pharmacist in a number of different settings and roles including temporary or day to day management.
* Experience of developing a business or organisation and the staff team, or having been part of such a new team
* Understanding of Primary and Secondary Care prescribing issues
* Extensiveknowledge of the legislation and guidance relating to management of medicines
* Leadership & Team skills-supervision/delegation

* Ability toinfluence others Ability to work effectively as part of a team Good time management and organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
* Ability to use keyboard skills including PMR applications and Microsoft Office applications
