£361 Per Day (Inside IR35)
37.5 Hours Per Week3 Month Contract
Lewisham and Greenwich (Commutable from all London Area's)

My Client with an office based in London are seeking a Health and Safety Manager on an initial 6 month contract basis with (37.5 hours a week, flexible working) paying £307 perday.

The role will require the candidate to travel across different sites within the Trust:

* Queen Elizabeth Hospital* University Hospital Lewisham
* A range of community health services in Lewisham
* Some services at Queen Mary's Hospitalin Sidcup.

Job Summary:
The post holder will report to the Site Director of Nursing and is corporately accountable to theTrust's Executive lead for Safeguarding. The post holder is responsible for ensuring that structures, systems and processes across acute and community services are in place so that adult safeguarding activity is effectively coordinated across the Trust, ensuring appropriate use of available resources and that the required operational and service quality standards are achieved.
The post holder will support the clinical directors, general managers and directorate heads of nursing and midwifery and in meeting their responsibilities for adult safeguarding within their services.
The post holder will work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders involved in adult safeguarding activity in order to promote effective partnership working. Thiswill involve a high degree of effective coordination, communication, networking and liaison to establish and maintain good working relationships within health and other agencies both locally and nationally.
The post holder, together with the Lead Doctorwill lead on Trust response to Serious Case Reviews and Internal Management Reviews and report annually to the Trust Board through completion of an annual report
Knowledge and Skills
Essential

* Knowledge of national and local adult safeguarding policy and legislative framework.
* Current relevant research findings.
* Knowledge of risk management.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Experience and skills in training and presentations.
* Proficient computer skills.* Excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to adapt to change within the working environment.
* Interagency working at astrategic level.
* Management skills
* Able to communicate with all levels of staff within the Trust and a variety of agencies.
* Able to work autonomously.
* Be skilled in professional decision making. Ability to implement best practice.
* Awareness of recent research and developments relating to Adult Safeguarding work and its implications for practice.
* Have awareness and knowledge of issues in clinical supervision and consultation when working with professionals and lay staff
* An understanding of the roles and responsibilities of other statutory and voluntary agencies in Adult Safeguarding.
* Knowledge of thecurrent Government guidelines relating to Adult Safeguarding work.
* An understanding of the implications of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 in relation to Adult Safeguarding work.
* An awareness of the effects of culture and family dynamics for Adult Safeguarding work.
* Ability to effectively facilitate change and motivate others.
* Management of complaints / critical incidents

Desirable

* Understanding the principles of a learning organization.
* Understanding of local authority policy andpractice.

Experience
Essential

* Relevant experience of working in adult safeguarding field.
* Extensive experience at a senior nurse level (minimum band 7 for three years).
* Significant experience of working with adult safeguarding issues.* Experience of interagency working.
* Experience of providing clinical supervision within a model of reflective practice.* Knowledge of clinical governance.
* Experience in a managerial position

Desirable

* Experience in Safeguarding adultsin both acute and community settings
* Experience of contributing to research projects
* Previous work on inter-agency committees.
* Awareness of health and safety issues

Qualifications
Essential

* Registered General Nurse
* SafeguardingAdult qualifications or equivalent experience.
* Master's Degree in relevant subject / willingness to undertake Master's Degree
* Evidence of professional updating
* Teaching qualification e.g.ENB998 or equivalent

Desirable

* Qualification inmanagement studies
* Counselling skills
