Working closely with the Director of Capital,Estates & Facilities Management, the Associate Director of Estates & Facilities - Building, Engineering & Maintenance (AD-BEMS) will contribute to ensuring that the corporate objectives of the Trust are achieved with specific focus on the provision of safe and secure premises and equipment. The Associate Director of Estates & Facilities - Building, Engineering &Maintenance will be the focal point for delivering operational engineering & maintenance strategies and services and plantreliability across the Trust on behalf of the Director of Capital, Estates & Facilities Management.
The role of the AD BEMS is a crucial role in providing a safe and compliant environment for health and care, as well as work. As senior member of theleadership team, the post holder will be responsible for ensuring compliance with statute, will need to be technically advancedand capable of quick thinking when things go wrong. This post has significant responsibility across the breadth of building, engineering, maintenance and allied services and is the focal point for delivery. As the Associate Director of Estates & Facilities - Building, Engineering & Maintenance the post holder will deputise for the Director of Capital, Estates & Facilities Management, and working closely with the heads of service, engineering staff, craft staff and construction professionals, clinicians, senior managers, along with statutory bodies and external agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
* The post holder will be required to work across all the properties/sites owned or occupied by Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust* Assurance & Compliance
* Technical Advice
* Finance & Investment including SFO/SFI/PFI
* Attend meetings as required by the Director, the Management Executive, and or Board Sub-Committees
* Ensure sound financial control for operations activities including, contractual arrangements together with overall budgetary control for the departments.
* Lead the disciplines technically in relation to HTM governance groups such as leading the BEMS team and be in attendance at and providing supportto specific statutory/mandatory Trust groups including Water Quality/Safety Groups, Medical Gas Committees
What you will need:
* Degree in Building Service Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering
* Masters Degree or equivalent healthcare specialist experience at senior engineering level in a complex engineering environment
* Evidence of Continuous Professional development
* Management experience of non-skilled, skilled and professional staff
* Significant experience in delivering complex capital projects in excess of £25 million within the NHS
* Significant post qualification experience & track record of Managing Estates & Facilities assets and services, including budgets within a complex acute health environmentClick apply now or speak with Chris Holliday for further info.
