My Client are The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence based in Manchester and are seeking a IT Infrastructure Specialiston an initial 6 month contract basis (37.5 Hours) Paying £510 per day (Inside IR35).
* The role expectation is for a successful candidate to be in the office 1 day a week, but it will depend on the requirements of the work and team.
* The successfulcandidate must be able and willing to travel to either NICE office and work at those sites as required
* Expense to travel to the Manchester Office will not be paid. but any expenses for travel to other locations can be reimbursed if agreed in advance.NICE will be aiming to hold interviews on Tuesday 18th October 2022 with a proposed approximate start date of Tuesday 25th October 2022
Job Description
NICE requires an IT Infrastructure Specialist to join the IT Infrastructure team that is responsible for managing the high availability of the NICE IT infrastructure and associated operational services in line with the agreed Service Level Targets.
The IT Infrastructure Specialist will be working alongside the infrastructure engineers supporting the existing infrastructure, optimising the existing solutions and processes.
This role will be actively involved in several ITinfrastructure upgrade projects that will include the design, execution and implementation of the new technologies and futures.Also working with the other IT teams, such as Service Desk, WebOps and the project delivery team to ensuring close alignmentand engagement in implementing major developments and enhancements within the existing IT infrastructure.
The work involves working closely with the existing IT Infrastructure Team and will report to the Head of Infrastructure.
Work will be a mix of remote working and office based working from NICE's Manchester office. NICE staff are all working predominantly remotely but withpresence in the office as required. Our expectation for this role would be 1 day a week in the office but it will depend on therequirements of the work and team.
The successful candidate must be able and willing to travel to either NICE office and workat those sites as required. Travel to the Manchester office would not be reimbursed/paid for, however any travel to the other NICE office would be paid for by NICE in line with their travel policy.
Key Responsibilities
* To finalise the O365 emailmigration project including the decommissioning of the onsite servers, implementation of the new front end protection platform and O365 backup solution.
* To design, execute and implement a new Azure environment including readiness assessment, deploymentof the Enterprise landing zone and site to site connectivity.
* Review the BC/DR strategy and address any deficiencies.
* Develop an action plan and roadmap to improve the IT infrastructure including WIFI improvement, storage replications and PPM (planned preventive maintenance).
* Produce additional documentation in areas where gaps exist in terms of the existing documentation.
* Identify any risks and issues posed by the IT infrastructure, the IT support team, systems and processes.
Skills andExperience
* Relevant qualification: degree in a computer science field or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience and further training/development.
* Microsoft Enterprise or Associate or MCSE qualification
* Microsoft Azure extensive experience
* Microsoft Azure Certified
* Fortinet Qualification or extensive experience
* Strong and demonstrable VMWare vSphere skills with a proven track record working with a large, complex infrastructure environment
* Strong expertise and knowledge of Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019.
* Management of Exchange Server 2016
* A good understanding of network security, practices, and configuration
* Experience with SQL Server 2012 / 2016 and always on availability groups
* Knowledge of VMware VDI management
Additional desirable skills and experience
* Microsoft 365 Mobility and Security qualification
