My Client are an NHS Trust based in Suffolk and are seeking an Lab IT Lead on an ongoing 2 Month contract at 37.5 hours per week
The role is home based with the requirement to travel to Colchester, Ipswich and West Suffolk Hospitals as needed.
Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join the ESNEFT Laboratory IT team to support and develop the Pathology IT systems within ESNEFT as well asthose at West Suffolk Foundation Trust (WSFT) as part of a service level agreement between ESNEFT and WSFT. The successful applicants will work with the Laboratory IT team to provide support for LIMS configuration changes.
You will need have experienceof working within an NHS Pathology/Laboratory based environment, extensive experience of system administration in LabCentre\WinPath Enterprise, possess excellent motivational skills, first-rate communication skills and the drive to deliver high-quality support for our systems. Your focus at all times should be to deliver what is required by the laboratories and service users to provide an excellent experience for our patients.
Experience
Essential
* HCPC registration (Registered Health Scientist)or working towards
* Experience of working within the NHS environment
* Experience of working within a Pathology/Laboratorybased environment
* Working knowledge of a specific laboratory discipline.
* General understanding of all pathology disciplines
* Extensive knowledge and experience of Laboratory Information Management systems (LIMS)
* Understanding of impact of LIMS on downstream systems
* Knowledge of Data confidentiality and security issues in the NHS
* Understanding of PC, network infrastructure and general IT equipment
* Experience of effective co-ordination and prioritisation in a busy environment
* Working understanding and awareness of clinical and other information systems
* Interrogating databases to provide and present statistical management data
* Understanding of Risk Management
* Understanding of quality management
* High standard of customer care
* Experience of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems
* Experience of Microsoft Office
* Experience of user acceptance testing
Desirable
* Experience in LIMS projects
* System administration and database administration
* Coordinating with internal and external IT Support teams
* Experience of HL7 interfacing, analyser interfaces and other methodsof cross system communications
Qualifications
Essential
* Biomedical Science degree
* Postgraduate qualification orworking towards qualification
* Evidence of continuous professional development
Desirable
* Foundation level ITIL v3 qualified
* Formal IT qualifications
* Leadership/Management qualifications
