My Client are an NHS Trust based in Essex and are seeking a Lead Reporting Analyst on a 3 month contract basis.
Job Summary
The Healthcare Analytics department is part of the Planning andPerformance Directorate. The department is responsible for providing an effective analytics service to the Group and is split into five main functions:
* Analysis & Reporting
* Data Warehousing and Reporting Solutions
* Commissioning Information
* Support for the Group level clinical redesign project.
* Insight & Engagement
The first four functions are led by a Group Head of service. The Insight & Engagement function is split across the service with three of the Heads of servicealso leading the Insight & Engagement function for a specific site.
The Analysis and Reporting function includes the submission of statutory returns, production of regular reports and completion of ad hoc data requests. The Analysis & Reportingteam therefore provides data, analyses and reporting across a broad range of topics for both planned and unplanned care. The team includes subject matter experts for all areas of reporting and is able to provide expert advice on technical issues and guidance and has a detailed understanding of all associated data flows. The team works closely with colleagues from the Data Warehousing and Reporting Solutions function to automate processes and reporting wherever possible in order to maximise the efficiency ofthe department.
The Lead Reporting Analyst is responsible for managing and leading one of the sub teams within the functionand ensuring the delivery of high quality support across a wide range of areas within planned and unplanned care. The team is responsible for the submission of statutory returns, production of regular reporting and completion of ad hoc data requests for the Group. The post holder contributes to the delivery of core functions within the team 2 and is responsible for contributing tothe overall development, efficiency and effectiveness of the team as well as ensuring that information provided is accurate, complete and timely. They ensure there is effective communication within the team, to the wider Healthcare Analytics department andwith other colleagues across the Group.
Experience
Essential
* Extensive experience of working in an NHS informationenvironment in an information management role
* Extensive experience of extracting, processing and analysing data
* Experience of successfully implementing/supporting change and service improvement
* In depth knowledge of relational database operation and experience of writing SQL queries, extracting data and completing analyses of data
* Experience of using a range of health related information systems
Desirable
* Proven experience of effective staff management and professional development* Knowledge of Data Protection and Data Quality Issues
Education/Qualifications
Essential
* Educated to masters level or equivalent level of knowledge gained through relevant work experience
* Advanced skills with Microsoft office specifically MS Excel
* Thorough understanding of NHS data definitions, reporting requirements, sources and information flows.
* Thorough understanding of relational databases and the NHS data dictionary
* Evidence of continuing professional development
