Job SummaryYou will support the Senior Finance Manager, finance managers and accountants in commissioning finance to maintain the Trustsfinance reporting systems to ensure accurate and timely information is reported to both the Trusts Board and other key stakeholders, both within the general ledger and standalone systems.
You will be responsible for on-going financial management supportto the Trust's Directorate of Partnerships & Integration, which has responsibility for the delegated functions of primary care under Co-commissioning arrangements with NHSEI..
You will also be required to produce complex financial analysis to tightdeadlines and to a high standard of accuracy using information from various sources outside of the general ledger
Responsibilities
* Assist in the day-to-day operation of the primary care finance function, in particular acting as the first point ofcontact for payment and other queries and ensuring a professional and timely response to resolution, liaising with other members of the team or the wider organisation as appropriate.
* Assist in the primary care financial reporting processes including month-end reporting.
* Support the financial aspects of primary care development as part of the ICB's broader objectives in primary care
* Ensure that all contractual payments are made correctly and on time.
* Liaise with primary care contractors as appropriate and answer queries
Experience/Knowledge.
* Experience of working in a finance department.
* Experience of using computerised financial ledger systems
* Experience of NHS Healthcare Finance
* Experience of Primary Care finance
Qualifications/Knowledge
* AAT or equivalent (or studying towards) or NVQ3 level in finance or equivalent; or significant previous proven experience.
* Evidence of further technical or management development
* Part qualified member of CCAB or CIMA (orequivalent experience or qualification)
* High level skills re IT systems and software packages including Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint.
* Ability to deal with complex financial spreadsheets and manipulate complex datasets to convey their contents in a meaningful way to finance and non-finance staff.
* Awareness of the broad strategic direction of the organisation
*Have an awareness of NHS issues and understanding of NHS commissioning finance
