Description:
The Head of Bid Management is responsible for leading the deal process within a leading IT solutions business, providing professional and effective bid management to deliver outstanding client proposals as well as managing all aspects of our internalgovernance. The Head of Bid Management will manage both opportunities that are created through customer discussions, as well astender and RFP responses.
The primary job responsibilities include:
* Manage Sign on / Bid or making the decision not tobid
* Managing Bids with focus on timescales, risks, escalation, and mitigation
* Management of associated technical resources in the Presales Team
* Internal Governance and Deal Review forum management
* Framework Management
* Validating won andlost opportunities
* Managing handover to Transition Management
Key Accountabilities
The Head of Bid Management, has akey role in the organisation and responsibilities include:
* Owning the bid process from start to finish.
* Supporting thesales and solution architect teams working with existing clients and prospects.
* Working with the commercial, delivery and financial teams to ensure the commercial models used in our bids are best of breed, delivering profitable yet competitive bids.* Organising the bid team, confirming roles and responsibilities, and creating the bid plan to meet the client timetable.
*Orchestrating activity through different phases of the bid process to make sure deliverables are completed in line with the bidplan and that a winning proposition is submitted to the client.
* Managing the bid lifecycle from the initial reviews throughto contract signature, making sure the right processes have been followed and relevant approvals obtained.
* Leading the response production, allocating owners and assignments for the bid response, ensuring continuity and consistency throughout the response.
* Setup and manage any required checkpoints or cadence reviews.
* Engaging across the business to ensure that any issues or conflicts that get in the way of the bid process are resolved quickly and effectively.
* Completing the final checks onproposals to ensure the quality of the final submission to a client is of the highest standard.
* Checking, approving, and uploading documents to Salesforce that come into Contracts inbox
* Initial vetting of contracts for the Commercial Director
* Planning of insurance needs and arranging facilitation via commercial support team
* Support and advise Sales on appropriate actions to be taken on bids, legal issues, and general advice through appropriate teams.
* Working to create and update standardised bid and presales collateral.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential
* Effective and experienced Head of Bid Management.* Experience in leading Infrastructure Managed Services, Cloud and Cyber bids.
* Effective bid writing skills.
* Demonstrable knowledge of commercial, financial and market related requirements for client proposals and tender responses.
* Proventrack record in leading multi-disciplinary teams to form effective bid teams.
* Able to demonstrate a high level of attentionto detail and to continually engage in improving the bid process.
* Experience of owning and managing governance activitiesDesirable
* Experience of delivering bespoke complex managed services solutions with multiple service partners and vendors.* Exposure to commercial models for delivering public Cloud based Managed Services.
* Effective project management skills and a working knowledge of ITIL Service Management.
* Development of pricing models.
* Experience bidding to the Public Sector and knowledge of Public Sector frameworks
