Procurement Lead

We have a great opportunity to join a Global Manufacturing Business who have gone through rapid growth and who have invested in theirfacility over the last couple of years for a Procurement lead to oversee all procurement and supply chain activities ensuring the strategic and efficient acquisition of goods, services and services.
This role requires an individual to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, oversee supply chain operations, and provide leadership to boththe procurement and supply chain teams.
Key responsibilities
* Lead the formulation and implementation of both procurement and supply chain strategies
* Identify, assess, and establish relationships with new and existing suppliers and vendors
* Negotiate contract terms, prices, and revisions for both procurement and supply chain activities
* Collaborate withfinance and other departments to manage and optimize the combined budget for procurement and supply chain operations
* Mentor,guide, and manage the procurement and supply chain teams
* Evaluate and analyse key performance indicators for procurement and supply chain to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains
* Work closely with departments such as production, sales, and logistics to identify needs and develop tailored procurement and supply chain solutions* Plan and implement supply chain logistics, including warehousing, transportation, and distribution
The person
* Ideally you will have a Bachelor's Degree: In Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Professional Certifications: MCIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply), APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management), or other equivalent qualifications are highly desirable
* Demonstrable professional experience in procurement, supply chain management or a related field
* Experience of operating in a leadership role managing a procurement and/or supply chain team
* Advanced knowledge ERP systems (EFACS preferred) for inventory control, order management and logistics planning
* Thorough understandingof contract law as it pertains to procurement and supply chain management
* Expertise in strategic sourcing methods
* Familiarity with quality control methodologies and certifications like ISO 9001 that are relevant to both procurement and supply chainmanagement
* Strong skills in cost-benefit analysis
* Proficiency in Just-In-Time (JIT), Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) andother inventory management models
* Comprehensive knowledge of logistics planning, including warehousing solutions, shipping and distribution methods
