Are you a skilled and experienced Purchasing Manager seeking a new challenge in the manufacturing industry? Our client is looking fora highly motivated individual to lead the strategic transformation of their manufacturing supply chain. As a key enabler for volume and margin growth, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact to the business.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate closely with key stakeholders across the business to drive strategic alignment of the supply chain within growth targets.
* Implement and manage data-driven KPIs to hold the incumbent supply chain accountable and ensure optimal outcomes for the business.
* Challenge and negotiate with suppliers to optimize costs and delivery performance, while facilitatingsupplier negotiations and controlling Bill of Materials (BoM) costs.
* Assist in the development of BoMs and standardised product ranges.
* Strategically source and establish new suppliers when necessary.
* Communicate lead times effectively to the wider business.
* Develop compelling business cases for discussion with the board.
* Manage and mentor the existing Purchasing team, driving their development during a period of transformation.
Skills/Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of purchasing management experience.
* Postgraduate or professional qualification ideal (e.g., CIPS).
* Proven track record of accountability in various purchasing roles within a manufacturing environment.
* Cross-functional stakeholder management expertise, including building relationships with Engineering and Finance teams.
* Familiarity with materials / components Supply Chains.
*Ownership of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and KPI management.
* Advanced Excel competency.
* Excellent communication skills.
The successful candidate must be able to get involved in both the day to day running of the department and be able to demonstrate vision and strategic planning skills relating to topics such as outsourcing, value analysis, benchmarking and supplier management.
In return for your expertise and contributions, our client offers a competitive salary up to £50,000 perannum.
