Experienced in Commercial Security Sales and looking for your next challenge? We are looking for a big hitter from install sales management who can build a successful team in the South Coast region for one of our Global Fire & Security Companies.
The main purpose of the role will be to develop and implement the area sales plan within an integrated Fire & Security Business Unit across Security Install & Service. To lead and manage a team of sales people within a defined business and geographical unit, maximizing sales across new and existing customers, achieving and exceeding set targets for orders, margin and recurring revenue in line with overall business objectives.
Responsibilities;
* Manage a combined security and fire sales team to achieve and exceed sales, revenue and margin growth targets in line with business objectives.
* Design, build, set and execute alocal area sales plan in order to meet financial objectives, taking into account market trends and local competitor dynamics toinclude sales team deployment, sales people development, Key Account development, pipeline and activity management.
* Developand retain a talented sales team by attracting and selecting high calibre sales people, training and coaching them, recognisingand rewarding them and maintaining good team morale at all times.
* Grow customer portfolio by winning new customers; retaining the customer base & grow share of wallet within existing customers. Building and maintaining key customer relationships.* Build relationships with selective contractors and other third parties to support growth targets.
Operational Effectiveness;
* Working in conjunction with the General Manager and Commercial Director develop and implement a rolling sales plan including setting sales targets for the business unit in order to achieve and maximize sales, revenue and margin targets.
* Managethe existing customer portfolio to maximise customer retention and growth through the cross selling of additional fire & security services.
* Demonstrate a customer focused work ethic working as part of the business unit team to meet the BU recurring revenue portfolio growth targets.
* Develop existing Key Accounts within the BU to maximise the share of wallet.
* Identify individual and sales team targeted prospect Key Accounts and develop clear account plans to win.
* Ensure the sales team hasa healthy mix of pipeline prospects and quotes at all times and work with them on required activity to maximise the conversionto orders.
* Assist the sales team with obtaining, completing and winning existing and new tender business opportunities.
*Organise and participate in appropriate sales and technical meetings to increase the profile of the company therefore generatingsales and new contacts / leads.
* Prepare required timely weekly/monthly sales reports and provide accurate sales forecasts to the General Manager and Commercial Director on a weekly basis.
* Understand and report on the market place and competitor landscape activity / trends on a monthly basis where required, adapt the sales plan.
* Work with the General Manager and Operational Managers to ensure satisfactory installation of system(s) and successful handover to the service function. Driving customersatisfaction.
People Management;
* Attract, recruit and retain sales talent in line with the business recruitment best practice, maintaining a full headcount at all times.
* Ensure that new recruits are properly on boarded, assigning mentors where required, ensuring compliance to the business induction process.
* Complete and maintain a PFT for each sales person in linewith company process and within the required timeframe.
* Maximise the productivity of each individual sales team member ensuring they deliver forecasts and targets every month.
* Develop strong one to one working relationships with the sales team tomaintain good morale, providing day to day management, setting clear objectives, and personal activity levels & targets.
*Maintain personal development plans and use performance improvement tools and standard processes to improve sales performance where necessary.
* Provide sales training and in-field coaching, including dual calling activity & identify formal sales training requirements on a regular basis.
* Communicate sales plans, objectives and results to the sales team on a monthly basisvia team meetings & include general company communications, results and priorities.
* Ensure adherence to all Company Policies and Procedures.
* Be fully conversant and compliant with all Environmental Health and Safety procedures.
* Complete quarterly ethics module as advised by Ethics & Compliance Officer (ECO)
* Fully comply with all Quality, Environmental Health and Safety directives including but not limited to PPE, Accident Reporting, Cardinal Rules, Risk Assessment Method Statement (RAMS), and Achieving Competitive Excellence (ACE).
Candidate Requirements;
* A successful track record in Sales and/or Team Leadership/Sales Management in the fire & security industry is essential.
* Proven experience managing a team with a combined £multi-million annual budget.
* Also proven experience in encouraging motivation, commitment and enthusiasm in others.* Experience of dealing with senior directors including reporting and reviewing performance metrics.
* Knowledge of UK security sectors including the specifier/influencer routes to market.
* Ability to recruit, drive and manage a sales team and create a culture that is motivating and positive.
* Able to lead from the front with a 'can do' attitude.
* Possess the credibility to gain respect of customers, employees and senior management.
* Exhibit well developed communication/ interpersonal/ presentation skills, being able to influence at all levels.
