Description:
The Senior Category Manager will manage the Category Team, build supplier relationships, and act as a business partner tooperational and corporate departments. They will deliver complex or high-value procurements and contracts that balance the demands of service delivery in a dynamic, multi-site acute hospital. They will also provide expert procurement advice, ensure a highly professional procurement service, and promote leading procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage the Category Team and support team members
* Provide expert procurement advice to operational and corporate departments
* Ensure the procurement service is seen as a highly professional and enabling business partnering service
* Promote leading procurement practices internally and externally
* Negotiate high-value or complex, multi-year contracts for services
* Manage contracts on behalf of the Trust
* Develop and deliver commercial procurement strategies at a divisional level
* Support the delivery of strategic procurement and commercial opportunities
* Assess markets and competitive behaviour
* Develop and implement servicepolicies and processes
* Maintain catalogues and analyze procurement data
* Manage staff in the Category Team
* Participate in the Trust's appraisal process
* Identify their own learning needs
Qualifications and Skills:
* MCIPS Chartered Professional Status or equivalent professional development
* Excellent written, oral, and presentational skills
* Analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
* Experience in staff management, staff development, and recruitment
* Procurement leadership positions within a complex, service-delivery focused organization is preferred.
