Work Wales are delighted to be working with an industry leader in Forensics. The client are specialists uncovering digital evidence and that work meets the highest industry standards. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead ourDigital Investigations Laboratory, maintaining the department as a centre of excellence in accordance with ISO standards and theForensic Science Regulators Code.
Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a varied team of staff, including digital forensic technicians, analysts and compliance officers.
* Provide guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise.
* Oversee theday to day running of operations, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to protocols, and timely completion of casework.
* Implement and develop best practices and standard operating procedures for evidence collection, analysis, and presentation.
* Remain up to date with the latest advancements in digital forensics, including tools, techniques, methodologies, and introduce innovative practices to enhance our capabilities.
* Collaborate with Law Enforcement/Government Agencies, Legal Professionals, and internal stakeholders to provide expert testimony and guidance on digital evidence.
* Conduct quality control reviews to maintain accuracy, reliability, and adherence to forensic standards (ISO/IEC 17025:2017, FSR Codes/ Statutory Code, 27001).
* Ensure the laboratory operates in a cost-effective manner and adherence to targets are met.
* Oversee and document team trainingand competency.
* Validate any changes/enhancements to the forensic process.
Qualifications:
* A First- or Second-Class honours degree in a relevant field.
* Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience within a digital forensic practitioner role.* Strong knowledge of forensic analysis techniques, tools, and methodologies (essential).
* Proficiency in using forensic software such as EnCase, FTK, or Cellebrite
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
* 1 - 2 years' experience in leadership abilities with experience managing a team (Preferred).
