PERFUSION SCIENTIST

My client is a healthcare institution committed to providing exceptional cardiovascular treatment to our community. They are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Perfusion Scientist to join their esteemed team and contribute to the advancement of cardiac care in the region.
Role Overview: As a Perfusion Scientist,you will play a vital role in our Cardiovascular Department, providing expert perfusion support during cardiac surgical procedures. Your expertise in operating and monitoring cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) equipment will ensure the safety and well-being of our patients, contributing to successful surgical outcomes and improved patient recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operateand maintain cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) equipment during cardiac surgical procedures, ensuring optimal perfusion and oxygenation of the patient's blood.
* Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and anesthesiologists to adjust perfusion parameters and manage patient hemodynamics throughout the surgical procedure.
* Perform blood gas analysis and interpret results to monitorand maintain the patient's physiological status during CPB.
* Administer anticoagulation therapy and blood products as necessary to prevent clotting and ensure adequate hemostasis.
* Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards to ensure the sterility and integrity of perfusion equipment.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and research projects aimed at enhancing perfusion techniques and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:* Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Science or a related field.
* Certification as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) accredited by the College of Clinical Perfusion of Great Britain and Ireland.
* Previous experience as a Perfusion Scientist in a clinical setting is preferred but not essential for entry-level positions.
* Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills.
