MCG Construction are recruiting for a Commercial Assistant in London for a leading social housing contractor in which you will be providing support towards the financial management of the joint venture maintenance contract ensuring all targets are being achieved.
Duties will include but are not limited to the below:
* Ensure all applications are submitted in line with the contractual terms
* A tracker is in place to monitor all applications submitted and ensure any works rejected are tracked and reissued when appropriate* To price all jobs by their appropriate revenue code to ensure that they are billed correctly
* To produce and agree a monthly application
* To Govern & Validate all subcontractor quotations in line with service level agreements to ensure cost control and value for money are achieved.
* Regularly check and value subcontractors work, agree valuations and produce paymentcertificates, in accordance with sub-contract conditions
* To assist site and project managers in the identification and recording of variations.
* Regular audits of supplier costs are undertaken ensuring PPS are receiving the agreed discounts and itemrates
* Opportunities to reduce cost are consistently identified and actions put in place through Value For Money framework to achieve
* Monitor all costs and assist in the managing of these costs to ensure profitability is maintained.
Knowledge and Experience Required:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience Working in the Social housing Sector as a principle and/or Maincontractor across the following Business streams:Responsive Repairs, Voids,Planned & Cyclical - Kitchen & Bathrooms, Compliance - EICR & FRA and Project Works
* Experience Procuring, working with and managing supply chain Partners
* Experience Surveying, Pricing and Validating Subcontractor Quotations
* Experience Measuring Works, Generating and Agreeing applications
* Experience working with typical Pricing agreements & Frameworks within a TPC Contract, which includes mandatory knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates and Basket Rates
* Experience in financial reporting and data analysis
* Strong numeracy andfinancial management skills
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal are necessary
* IT skills including advanced Excel and Word are essential
